Rumors of Apple working on VR/AR glasses have been around for a couple of years. Even though Apple has never come out publicly to talk about this project, there is a lot of evidence around that proves they are working on an AR/VR gadget. Today, I’ll share everything you need to know about these rumors surrounding Apple Glasses!

First off, these glasses are AR/VR headsets that are believed to come with a lot more capabilities than what we already have in the market. Most of the current headsets like Facebook’s Oculus Quest and Google glasses have given users a much better experience while watching AR videos and playing AR/VR games.

However, most people still look at AR/VR as some sort of fancy tech that’s not solving any severe real-world problem. Hence, most people anticipate Apple developing a much more practical way of implementing this technology in their products.

We all know Apple as one of those companies that take its time before implementing new technology, but it always does its best when it does. We saw this with Touch ID, smartwatch, and Face ID. Therefore, this is the same kind of anticipation that people have when it comes to the Apple Glasses.

According to a patent (number 10,893,412) that Apple has been granted, the device cited in the descriptions will be able to unlock nearby devices seamlessly. The closest interpretation to this patent is that this device could likely be the Apple Glasses. They will have the ability to unlock all nearby Apple devices to avoid having to authenticate all the devices one at a time manually.

Based on this patent, Apple Glasses will likely have the ability to unlock your iPhone and iPad plus any other apps on these devices that require authentication. This will be implemented to ensure it doesn’t create any security vulnerabilities we are yet to establish.

According to a reliable Apple leaker – Jon Prosser, Apple Glasses will likely be announced between March and June of 2021. However, the actual products could be ready for shipping later this year or early next year. This kind of arrangement is what Apple always uses while launching a new product they haven’t previously been making. We saw this with the iPhone, Apple Watche, Apple silicon Macs, etc.

Although there are no details regarding the features of these Apple glasses, they will most likely have some specs of AR/VR headsets that we now have in the market. Some of the specs that may be included; a resolution of 47ppi, a field view of 52-degrees, and glasses (a custom operating system for these glasses). Jon Prosser also claims these glasses could launch at $499.

With all these rumors surrendering the Apple Glasses, it may very well happen soon. However, what we do know for sure is that the next few years will be quite exciting in the technology world!
