All You Need To Know About The New Space Jam 2 Movie

The trailer for Space Jam: A New Legacy was released earlier this month, which means the movie itself will hit the cinemas and your TV screen soon. After watching this movie trailer, here is everything you need to know about this movie. 

The first Space Jam movie was released in 1996 and featured Micheal Jordan. In the new movie, we will be seeing LeBron James, who has been a 4-time MVP winner in the NBA and is also seen as one of the greatest basketball players of all time, take his place.

Fifteen years ago, LeBron James turned this offer down because he didn’t feel ready to play this role, and he didn’t want the pressure of being compared to Michael Jordan. However, at 36, he now feels ready. 

The other stars that will be featured in this movie include; Ceyair Wright, Don Cheadle, Sonequa Martin-Green, Harper Leigh Alexander, Khris Davis, and Cedric Joe. 

There hasn’t been an official statement regarding the supporting ballers that will be involved. However, rumors from a couple of reliable sources suggest that basketball players Anthony Davis, Klay Thompson, and Damian Lillard will also be involved.

WNBA supporters Diana Taurasi, Nneka Ogwumike, and Chiney Ogwumik are also expected to feature in the movie. This will be confirmed when the moves finally hit the Cinemas. 

In this movie, LeBron James will struggle to relate with his younger son Dom James, who seems to love creating basketball games using artificial intelligence technology rather than playing them in real life like his father. Later in the movie, he gets kidnapped. Being a Space Jam movie, the rescue mission to get back his son will be settled with a basketball game. 

Space Jam 2 will be released on 16th July 2021. This movie will be among the first to welcome many people back to the cinemas after a long wait. It will also be streaming simultaneously on HBO MAX, so if you cannot get to the cinema, you can still watch this movie in the comfort of your couch!
