Tony Buzbee, the lawyer defending the women in Deshaun Watson’s case, recently released several text messages and social media posts that were said to be exchanged between the football player and his accusers.

Deshaun Watson has been accused of inappropriate behavior by 22 women, all of whom work in the wellness industry to some capacity. Deshaun Watson has denied the allegations against him after the first lawsuit was filed on March 16.

One of Deshaun Watson’s lawsuits states, “based on publicly available information, in a short time frame … Watson used more than fifty different women for massages.” It alleges that “Watson selected all of these women via social media, mostly through Instagram and through Snapchat.”

In the specific messages released to the public, Deshaun Watson allegedly sent flight confirmation and with information on which hotel he was staying in that he rented for the massage.

The messages claim Deshaun Watson also asked the massage therapist where he could rent a massage table before saying he would get one from his “team.”

A conversation on text between the therapist and Deshaun Watson also shows an image of an unknown woman where he replied, “something like this is fine. It’s hot here.” It’s not clear what caused him to send the photo.

Multiple other text messages and Instagram messages have also been revealed, painting the picture that Deshaun Watson recruited these women for a massage.

Rusty Hardin, attorney for Deshaun Watson, defended his use of social media, specifically Instagram, to recruit masseuses for private therapy sessions.

“(He’s) getting two to three massages a week. The math I do on that is anywhere between 120 to 140 to 150 massages a year,” Hardin said. “In the year 2020, all of a sudden spas shut down. Nobody was getting massages unless they came up with an ad hoc way to do it. The massage world during the pandemic changed … Millennials live on Instagram. They do business on it. Deshaun lives on Instagram. He does business transactions on Instagram.”

The latest news on the case states that orders by a pair of Texas judges will effectively require 13 of the 22 women who have anonymously filed lawsuits against Deshaun Watson to reveal themselves publicly.

With the rulings in effect, this will mean that as many as 13 of these accusers will be publicly known by the middle of this week.
