Fun Habits to Pick up During the COVID-19 Quarantine
With COVID-19 cases reaching record highs, millions of citizens are confined to their homes. Most enjoyment areas have been cut off from the pandemic, making for a very dull daily routine. From high school sports to normal outdoor activities, nearly everything has been restricted to a certain extent. With that in mind, here are a few fun outlets for your pent up COVID-19 creativity.
Investing
Investing truly isn’t as difficult as some make it seem. You can invest in anything. From sports cards to stocks, there’s a form of investment for any of your interests. The prospect of buying low and selling high has been around for centuries, but COVID has allowed everyone to capitalize on ways to work from home. With tensions high and prices more down than usual, you have the perfect opportunity to buy a few things that you can hold onto until a rainy day.
Reading
Yes, reading isn’t always the most exciting thing to do. However, with most of your time being spent inside, it’s likely one of the most productive. I’ve gotten into philosophy, and it’s been doing wonders for my self-confidence. Knowing that you’re mentally growing is an incredible feeling, and I would highly recommend using reading as an outlet for your quarantine adventures. Whatever your interests are, there’s no harm in reading about them to further your understanding. On top of that, you’ll feel pretty good when it’s all over.
Binging
While it’s obviously not as productive as the two ideas listed above, I understand that not every fun activity has to be academic. After a lot of binges watching on Netflix, Here are some shows that I would highly recommend:
- Community
- This show is fantastic. With episodes that are generally 20 minutes long, it’s super easy to watch in bulk.
- Cobra Kai
- I watched both seasons in 2 days. I’ve never been addicted to a show like this before! Both competing sides of the story are protagonists, making the storyline extremely interesting.
- Grey’s Anatomy
- Don’t knock it until you try it. Trust me.
- Bojack Horseman
- Many people don’t like this show, but I was really attached to the character development.
Self Care
Being alone with our thoughts and minds can be scary. Often, we use the presence of other people to keep our minds from going haywire, so getting cut off from that can be extremely scary. Whatever you choose to pursue during this COVID-19 quarantine, please make sure that it’s something that makes you feel happy about who you are. After all, that’s the most essential skill that a person can learn. Stay safe!
