How Tim Cook Revolutionized Apple Over The Years

When Steve Jobs hand-picked Tim Cook as Apple CEO in 2011, many expected Apple to go through a downward spiral a few months before he died. However, this hasn’t been the case. Tim Cook has proved all critics wrong by making Apple even a much better company in his era. 

Steve Jobs was a genius and visionary leader, but Tim Cook has proved to be the perfect man for the highly demanding job. Let’s look at some of the achievements that Apple had under Tim Cook. 

Apple reached a $2 trillion market valuation last year (August 2020) amidst a pandemic when many companies were struggling. 

This success is attributed to the massive sales of its flagship products like the iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and Apple watches. By the time Steve Jobs died in 2011, Apple was valued at about $350 Billion, and now it is about $2.26 Trillion. 

Steve Jobs was known to be against smaller tablets, but Tim Cook thought otherwise; this is evident because they launched the iPad mini in 2012 and the iPad Air in 2013. These two smaller iPads boosted iPad sales and are among the reasons why Apple is still the undisputed leader in the tablet market. Apple also launched the iPad Pro in 2015, and that has become one of the favorite devices for creators. 

The Apple watch that was introduced in 2015 has become one of the significant contributors to Apple sales and is by far the most complete smartwatch in the market today. Apple made over $10 Billion from the Apple watch in 2020, and these numbers are expected to increase even further this year. 

Apple transitioning from intel to their own M1 processors is probably one of the significant leaps the company has made in the computing industry in the last decade. The M1 Macbooks have completely destroyed windows laptops in almost every benchmark. 

The power efficiency of the M1 chip is also years ahead of the competition, and it is the reason behind the 20 hours battery life on the M1 MacBook Pro that was initially about 11 hours with Intel Chips. This chip is now available in the new iPad Pro and iMacs that were announced during Apple’s April 2021 event.
