Mark Cuban, Snoop Dogg, and Ashton Kutcher Team up for an NFT Pitch Show

NFTs have been one of the most trending topics on media platforms since the start of this year. Like any new piece of tech, NFTs have critics and those who are optimistic that they will become a big thing. Mark Cuban falls under the latter. 

NFT (Non-Fungible Token) refers to a piece of data representing a unique digital item on the blockchain (such as digital art). With this, artists can create NFTs of their art pieces and add them to the blockchain. The price they sell them at depends on the demand of that particular art piece on the marketplace. 

The early internet days were full of uncertainty because no one knew the best use cases of the internet, so it was about trying to use it to build what you believe in. Just like the early internet, no one is certain about the most relevant use cases of NFTs. 

Mark Cuban is teaming up with Snoop Dogg and Ashton Kutcher to assess some of the best NFT ideas that have the potential to solve real-world problems. 

Sound Ventures, a startup investment firm founded in 2015 by Kutcher and Oseary in the USA, will invest $1,000,000 in some of the best potential business ideas and products related to non-fungible tokens. This money will be funded after a virtual pitch show that will take place on 21st April this year. Mark Cuban will be among the judges that will assess the ideas presented by various individuals. 

Kutcher and Oseary will join Mark Cuban alongside NFT producing musicians 3LAU and Snoop Dogg, NFT art collectors Metakovan and Whale Shark, and Linda Xie (Scalar Capital’s co-founder). Anyone around the world can be part of this competition as long as they have an idea or product in the market that is built around NFTs. 

Mark Cuban and other investors like Gary Vee see a lot of potential in NFTs, which is why they are actively talking about and also investing in some related businesses. The one million that Sound Ventures intends to invest in the NFT ideas may not be enough, but it is a good start for innovators that already have good ideas!
