It was recently announced that major social network Reddit will be partnering with the NBA. Reddit will display NBA featured content on their site from the content and ad sales partnership, including a series of exclusive material leading up to the NBA Finals.

“The partnership will see unique NBA content featured on Reddit, including a series of NBA AMAs Ask Me Anything (AMA) sessions on the platform in partnership with NBA and Reddit,” said Reddit in a statement. “This collaboration gives NBA fans on Reddit access to content and game highlights.”

The NBA is extremely popular on Reddit, amassing over 3.9 million members on the platform’s biggest NBA subreddit, r/NBA. With the interactive AMA series, a Q and A session with the players, the NBA community on the platform is bound to grow even more.

The Q and A’s have already kicked off with Jayson Tatum and Anthony Davis, who both answered questions from fans earlier this month. The NBA All-Stars responded to a variety of lines of inquiry, from tough questions to humorous ones. They covered their thoughts on the game itself and their approach to it. They also would go on to talk about their teams, personal lives, and thoughts on several current events in the United States.

Besides the AMA, the partnership also states Reddit will share “custom game action highlights and NBA and WNBA content.” According to Social Media Today, the content is presented by various brands.

Beyond Reddit, the NBA has been working on several other innovative collaborations with big-name companies. Recently, the league worked with Microsoft to launch an advanced stat platform for fans. The new site for advanced metrics is called CourtOptix and is powered by Microsoft Azure. It will offer new insights on expected shot value, shot efficiency, success versus double teams, defensive pressure, passing ability, and top burst speed.

With NBA CourtOptix, the site utilizes both data and video content to provide a more thorough and in-depth breakdown of the game. The CourtOptix content is viewable across the league’s social media channels, such as Twitter and Instagram.
