So… Elon Musk Is Now the Richest Person in the World

While the past months have certainly brought hardship upon most, Elon Musk has shocked the world (again). After continuously exercising his genius, Elon Musk recently became the world’s richest man. Yes, you heard me right. With a net worth of a whopping $185B, he surpassed Jeff Bezos ($184B) on Thursday. Positioned as a mirror image of Tony Stark, Elon Musk’s story has been far from ordinary. 

Born in 1971, Musk struggled through his early youth in South Africa. Some of the bullyings he received left him hospitalized. Being brutally beaten to the point of unconsciousness, thrown down sets of stairs, and encountering other sources of extreme trauma, Musk seemed to be dealt a poor hand. Fortunately, he never buckled. After high school, Musk would eventually graduate from the University of Pennsylvania, an ivy league university. 

During his time at Penn, Musk found an initial “business,” turning a frat house into a fully functioning nightclub. At the same time, it’s safe to say that he’s come a long way since the feat still holds reasonably impressive today. 

After multiple endeavors, including travel guides and online banking, he founded the famous SpaceX in 2002. If you’ve spent time online, you understand the extent that SpaceX plans to. Musk’s goal is to colonize Mars and reduce the price of spaceflight tenfold.

 In short, he’s not interested in confining his thinking to that of earthly standards. While the dreams may seem significant, Musk and his team come closer to achieving them every day. In 2020, SpaceX boasted an extensive list of accomplishments, including (but not limited to) the following: 

• A successful round trip to the ISS and back (the Demo-2 mission)
• Recently launching the Crew-1 endeavor.
• Completion of the SN8 prototype
• Multiple successful defense deals (Including a recent one of $149 million)

All of this isn’t even touching on Tesla, another one of Musk’s masterpieces. We could talk all day about Tesla if we truly needed to. From their futuristic designs to the groundbreaking power sourcing, especially the unbelievable stock prices, Tesla has established itself as a powerhouse in the automotive industry. 

Today, Musk acts as the CEO, CTO, and chief designer of SpaceX, the CEO and product architect of Tesla, founder of Neuralink (an exciting concept that we’ve left untouched), founder of The Boring Company, and many more. All in all, Elon Musk represents a perfect mix of academic ingenuity and business prowess, earning him the long-awaited title of “world’s richest person.”
