What’s the Best Choice for a Social Media Profile?

The 21st century has given way for the internet to implement itself in our daily lives. Out of all the prominent social media platforms, which one is the best? Today, we’ll be comparing the most popular apps with a few decisive factors.

Networking: LinkedIn

If we’re basing it off practicality, LinkedIn easily outclasses the other platforms. Granted, that’s not saying too much, as LinkedIn was created specifically for business networking purposes. Interestingly enough, the other platforms don’t come in too far behind. Instagram’s “DM” feature makes it easy to contact and network with other influencers in your industry, giving it a close second place.

Creative Outlet: TikTok

While the addition of Instagram “reels” gave content creators a new format to publish videos with, TikTok’s focal point is creativity. With many effects, filters, sounds, and other inserts to choose from, their wide range of possibilities set them apart from the other social media platforms. However, as Instagram continues to develop reels, I do not doubt that they’ll eventually overtake TikTok.

Convenience: Instagram

With a mixture of all the comparative factors, Instagram is the most convenient social media platform for regular usage. With Instagram, you can access many useful features unavailable on specialty platforms like YouTube, LinkedIn, and Tiktok. While most media are confined to a specific set of parameters that encapsulate its function, Instagram takes pieces from all of these, creating an app that serves to work in a multifaceted way (unlike the others).

Efficiency/Effectiveness: TikTok

At its core, digital platforms are meant to serve a sole purpose: the consumption of media. When we compare and contrast the speed at which you can scroll, view, and repeat, TikTok takes the edge. While Instagram is a platform that uniquely combines all other platforms’ best aspects, TikTok’s simplicity makes it far better at providing a user-friendly system that makes the process require little external thought. When consumption is reduced to an automated action, the user exerts far less brainpower when using the app.

Best Overall Digital Platform: Instagram

With a U.I that pulls ideas from other platforms, Instagram is the best bang for your buck. Put simply, Instagram would be the best app to choose in a scenario where you could only use one social media platform. With Reels, general feeds, IGTV, DMS, and stories, they do an excellent job creating an app that can meet multiple needs. Although some targeted platforms may be more efficient at their specialties, Instagram’s overall well-roundedness makes it (by far) the best social media app.
